Pebbles Beach and CUZ
Last week we got vacation off to a beachy start with a visit to our favourite spot...Pebbles Beach. If you have never been to Pebbles Beach, it is a MUST. I love it for kid safety. The water is soo low, we call it our personal swimming pool.
From early morning customers are lined up waiting on egg, cheese and fish cutters.
Locals and visitors alike know the real stuff.
In the pass, the building in the water housed a nightclub. Pretty cool.
View from my spot under the almond trees...sweet!
The family.
Pebbles is super convenient to get to, just off Bay Street. It has public bathrooms, a picnic area and quite a bit of history in its environs. Right to the back of the beach, you will find The Hilton Hotel and The Military Cemetery and along the road to the entrance are the famous Brown Sugar Restaurant and Island Inn Hotel. This summer I plan to tour and document the historic Garrison Savannah area which is also a stones throw away so look out for that.
Another reason we love Pebbles Beach is CUZ. CUZ is a local fish hut which sells the best fish cutters in the world.( We Bajans call bun sandwiches "cutters"). CUZ is a Pebbles Beach tradition whose story is worth telling and I hope I get the opportunity to share it with you later.
